General information Shenandoah Crossing is for those who want the simplicity of nature and the small town sophistication of Charlottesville The resort is located in Central Virginia which is known for its historic battlefields picturesque farms old churches and aristocratic homes Often called the Cradle of Democracy three U S presidents lived here Jefferson at Monticello Monroe at Ash Lawn and Madison at Montpelier When you re not exploring history tour the scenic countryside along some of the nation s best hiking and riding trails Shenandoah Crossing Resort is an outdoor vacation experience Our accommodations are predominantly cabins in the woods with a few that are Lake Front There are eight town homes also on wooded lots We have all the experiences you would find being outdoors such as bees raccoons fox deer turkey and other wildlife Although we monitor our grounds wildlife and vegetation are abundant Access to our cabins is via pathways ranging in distance from 20 to 200 from parking spaces Although we will make every attempt to honor requests for close cabins or limited stairs they are always on a space available basis Please call the resort for special requests Location The closest airport to the resort is Charlottesville Albemarle Airport CHO from the airport you take the main road east to Route 29 north Turn right onto Route 33 east in Ruckersville Stay on 33 east to Gordonsville At the route 15 south 33 east split take 33 east 4 and one half miles to right turn onto route 749 This will lead you to the resort entrance Area detail Walking Trail Rides are 45 minutes in length The horses are nose to tail walking a trail traversing areas of the resort and accompanied by trail guides Wagon Rides are a 20 minute ride along the roads in the resort The wagon seats are hay bales and the wagon is pulled by a tractor Pony Rides are for children under the age of 8 Parents may lead the pony around the ring Please be courteous of other guests waiting for pony rides Carriage Rides are horse drawn and travel the roads on the resort Approximately 45 minutes in length Wrangler Program is a two day program in which participants learn about breeds colors markings anatomy of the horse parts of the saddle basic horse care and handling This also involves a riding lesson and trail ride Participants are required to wear boots Recreation The hotel facilities include Outdoor basketball court Sand volleyball court Lighted tennis courts Horseshoe pits Playground Baseball diamond Lake Izac Tavern located in the lodge offers a scenic view of Lake Izac and the Ben Lomond Manor House circa 1742 The tavern provides patrons with a country setting and a memorable dining experience A seasonal outdoor patio provides additional seating Shenandoah Crossing is a desirable facility to host outdoor weddings church retreats corporate getaways golf outings family reunions and banquets Our scenic lake view has been the backdrop for several outdoor weddings Our Ben Lomond Manor House circa 1742 has also provided a wonderful setting for weddings and social events Our facilities include meeting rooms for 30 people or up to 120 for seated dining Our Great Hall is utilized for the large functions including receptions and dances The Great Hall and Observation Rooms are located in our main lodge Our playground and picnic area provides an outdoor venue for family reunions and group gatherings Our catering services will arrange everything from start to finish for a memorable event The Observation Room Located on the second floor of our lodge it has balcony access for a view of the lake and Manor House It can accommodate 50 persons theater style for meetings or 40 persons for dining Our Great Hall Used for wedding receptions banquets and meetings this room is located on the main floor of our lodge It can seat 150 persons theatre style for meetings or presentations and accommodate a mShortShenandoah Crossing Resort is an outdoor vacation experience Our accommodations are predominantly cabins in the woods with a few that are Lake Front There are eight town homes also on wooded lots Access to our cabins is via pathways Relax and enjoy
